Selling Live Trees
Here is some information I obtained regarding the selling of live trees from Tree Farms. I spoke with Brain Allen (303-239-4154) at the Department of Agriculture this past week and learned that if we sold live trees we would have to be licensed and inspected and would fall under regulations that the Nursery Industry has to follow. If we give trees away at no cost those regulations do not apply.
Non-compliance can be very costly and it could be problematic for our Tree Farmers who are also in EQIP or Forest Ag Programs that do not allow violations of law.
